TNSDMA in collaboration with NDMA, UNESCO and INCOIS, observed World Tsunami Awareness Day on Nov 5th in Vanagiri (Myladuthurai District) and Velankanni (Nagapattinam District). Community Based Tsunami Mock Exercise was conducted in Vanagiri and Velankanni. More than 1000 people participated in the mock exercise.

The Honorable Deputy Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Mr. Udhayanidhi Stalin, inspected the 24-hour State Emergency Operations Center operating at Chepauk Ezhilagam in preparation for the Northeast monsoon. He reviewed the monsoon preparedness and monitoring measures being implemented across Tamil Nadu.
